service isn't a buzzword at the university of dayton. it's our way of life. volunteering provides opportunities for personal and professional growth. as an alumni volunteer, you choose how much you want to be involved. we have volunteer options ranging from a single day opportunity to annual commitments.


volunteer interest descriptions

as a peer-to-peer ambassador, you will reach out to fellow flyers of your choosing to engage in a conversation about the importance of giving back to the university. as a volunteer and a peer, you can connect with fellow flyers in a unique way and personally inspire giving by sharing your own story.

provide perspective and support for personal and professional development by connecting with current students and young alums. the program is driven by the mentee, who reaches out to their mentor to ask questions and seek resources at least one time per month.

increase the recognition and reputation of the university of dayton across the country and around the world by recruiting future students through the university of dayton alumni and parent recruiting network.

reunion volunteers provide peer-to-peer outreach inviting classmates to attend reunion weekend, make a gift in honor of their reunion along with other event planning responsibilities.

provides services and events that help young alums navigate life after graduation and stay in touch with the university and classmates who shaped their life. this group is limited to alumni representatives who graduated within the last 10 years.

sign up as an employer through handshake and post and recruit for job openings in your company or organization.

help at the local level with one of our 35 alumni communities across the country. volunteers help to build engagement through a variety of opportunities, including planning and hosting service, career development or social events.

we rely on you and your connections to share the accomplishments of your classmates. nominate someone you know for one of ud's alumni awards or recognize a young alum.

join one of three council committees. the executive committee serves in an advisory role to university leadership. the philanthropy committee helps develop and execute a flight plan for family giving. the engagement committee identifies and supports parent volunteerism in areas such as communication with current parents, student recruitment, career development and more.

as a student, you can work to educate fellow flyers about the university’s shift toward a culture of philanthropy. you will organize educational programming related to philanthropy, steward donors, run campus events and motivate your peers to give to ud.
