Supporting beginning Catholic school educators through service & teaching

As a teacher in the Lalanne program at the University of Dayton, you'll benefit from two years of mentored teaching experience while also earning your master's degree.

Our teachers make a two-year commitment to teach in an under-resourced Catholic school and live together in a faith-based community, while pursuing professional and spiritual/personal development.

We specialize in supporting you, a beginning Catholic school educator, by combining service and teaching. Our focus on Education majors, along with the support of the University of Dayton's nationally recognized Department of Teacher Education, creates this unique opportunity for teachers. You'll learn not only from your professors, community members and mentors, but from your own students as you navigate the joys and challenges of your first and second years of teaching.

Lalanne is an initiative of the Center for Catholic Education at the University of Dayton, and is named in honor of Marianist Brother Father Jean Baptiste Lalanne.
